We made this game for the Bored Pixels Jam 8 within a week.

Introduction

You slip in the role of a Save Crystal in a traditional role playing game. You are tasked with remembering the items of several Heroes and your only help is a board you can fill with unrelated art assets. If you want to be successful you have to build yourself mnemonic bridges and update it as Heroes constantly change their equipment.

Controls

- left click on a tile in the selection or on the memory board picks it up.

- Another left click on the board puts it down.

- right click with a tile in hand removes it.

- right click on a tile on the board starts a link.

- Another right click on a tile links those tiles together. You can link tiles to remember connections.

- Use q and e to rotate a picked up tile.

I'm just a friendly save point who's trying to gift the player the fabled "dragon sword of 1000 cuts", although it appears that the management doesn't like it.

This game is a really nice memory game. It was confusing at first but after I lost and reread the title of the game I was like oh.. I'm the save crystal. Really well made tho. Nice job!

Funny that the bridges don't disappear when you win XD Also you can bridge from a tile to itself, which I, at least, found extremely helpful.

I enjoyed my time with this project! It can be quite a challenging experience and a good exercise for the brain in regards to memory. I think if the objects were randomized each play session, that could add a ton of replayability and variety! Different colored markers for relating objects could help the player as well. Maybe some difficulty options that adjust the amount of possible names or objects could also spice things up. Overall, this was a neat project and I had a good time with it! Great work on this!

Different color markers are next on the todo-list. Maybe it can be done before the submission deadline.

With randomized objects you mean the memory tiles? The items are already randomized every playthrough. I have never thought about this but maybe it would be fun. At the moment the project scope of one week limits the amount of tiles we have and I would not want to reduce it further.

If we extend the scope we will look into this and difficulty options for sure. In the initial draft we wanted to let the player also remember the itemtypes, levels and honorific. This might come back in the form of difficulty options.

Thanks a lot for making the video.

Ah I meant the objects used for the memory tiles. (The list to the left.) Also no worries about expanding the scope! These are just random ideas. I try to judge a game for what it is at the time I play rather than just ask for a bunch of additional features. (I got carried away in my initial comment, my apologies!)  Again, it was a compelling experience. Thanks for checking out the video as well!
